Woo hoo!

Well the holidays have come and gone about as painlessly as one might hope. Got some neat shit from the ole lady and kiddo. New Years party at my brothers tomorrow night gonna be a blast and then its on to 20 fucking 13, sounds crazy! Gonna jump on the bike hard over the next few months and get it ready for riding season. Swap meet is in a month and I'm hoping for the the goods this year! 2012 you weren't half bad but peace the fuck out! Be safe everyone!

Success!

Our first time hosting Thanksgiving was a smashing success. Since my move to Colorado 3 years ago 7 more friends have followed suit. So we had a Florida refugee turkey day for everyone that is here with no other family. Had WAY more food than we could even try to eat, banging ass from scratch collard greens, broccoli cornbread, ham, turkey and the list goes on with all the fixins. My baby fucking killed it, and so did everyone else that brought food. Thank you all!

New eyes

Finally got some new eyes. Its fucking amazing being able to see clearly again. I had gotten so used to fuzzy that small shit like a flock of sparrows flying over head is exhilarating to see, its natures own blue ray.

Now we're gettin somewhere

Well I got it up on the lift, got the new neck races and bearings in. Started throwing parts at it to get a feel for the way its going to go.

This thing is starting to look like a bike and not just a bunch of parts. Cleared off the other lift and got it on there. De-bured the rear axle and got it through the wheel. New tapered neck races and neck bearings should be here this week sometime and ill pick up my wheel bearings for front and back this week also. Bill thinks he has a 19" tire I can have for the front. That would rock. Next time I hope to have the neck conversion done and the front end mounted, front axle turned down and both wheels on and working a seat pan and mounts and getting the tank where I want it.

I really fucking hate days like this one started, continued, and ended up being.
Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking, how arrogant could you be to believe that dragging them half way across the country, to a place where they only know you, would make them happy..
They came though... to be here
With me.
Inadvertently creating this sometimes suffocating feeling of total failure in my ability to make ANYONE happy, let alone two of the only people that really matter in my chaotic black hole of a life.

I won't stop though, in hopes that one day I will succeed, that I will be able to be the inspiration that sparks happy in them.

Love these things, paint them black, tape up each end with a glow stick inside and stash them in the bushes and dark corners.

So I took advantage of a little down time and decided to clean up my valve, points and advance covers. I'll give the side covers the same treatment when I'm done filling in the stamped Yamaha letters with aluminum weld.
